Porky was with the bullheads but is very territorial. He got moved into a smaller 20gal tall tank just to hold him until I let him go this summer....
DIET:
Porky loves crawfish, any live minnow/goldfish, mealworms, waxworms, worms, insects, basically anything you put in the tank
DESCRIPTION:
I call them sappies, I dont know why, I have called them that since I started fishing. I always thought they were some weird type of fish that was part bass, crappie, and bluegill. Anyway, they are one of the most pretty freshwater fish. They can have blue, orange, or geen stripes. Their fins have black, orange, or yellow trim. Their mouths will open up way more than you could imagine. They usually have dark black-greenish bands on their sides, depends on how dark the spot where you found them is.
ATTITUDE:
These guys mean business!!! They will rip a crawfish to shreds. They act like a hyper bluegill with the attitude and mouth of a bass.
HABITAT:
Green sunfish or how I like to say "sappy" can withstand the crappiest puddles, streams, and ponds. They love rocks and drak places. Next time you see a fishing spot that doesnt look like a fishing spot, these guys are probably in there. I have found this little puddle type thing, yes I said puddle, wiht rocks in it, and it houses some big green sunfish. These guys hit your lure like a bass. Baby green sunfish love streams and creeks.
AQUARIUMS:
One of the best fish you can have. They eat like pigs, grow very fast, and survive. My friend accidently poisoned all of his fish, and guess what the only fish that survived was? You got it right....hopefully....a green sunfish!!! Now that one fish that survived is now thriving and about 5 inches.
Not the cleanest of fish tanks but he is ok. The tank is simple and fits his needs. As long as he gets food he is happy. I know the tank is too small so dont have a heart attack becauseI dont know what Im doing....
LOOK FORWARD TO OSCAR
SPREAD TO YOUR FRIENDS!
